The Old Weird Albion (Justin Hopper, Penned in The Margins, 2017) is a book of 'poetic essays' about landscape, memory & myth along the South Downs Way. Part walking-memoir, part psychogeography part ghost story, it takes in everything from crop circles and Chanctonbury Ring, to archaeologists and bizarre neo-antiquarians, looking for those who see something we cannot see in the mnemonic landscape. One chapter forms the basis of the album Chanctonbury Rings, by myself and Sharron Kraus.
